AI Resume Builders: What the Paid Tier Costs, and What Happens to Your CV
3 tools measured · Vouch Score data collected 29 August 2026 · highest composite first
An AI resume builder takes your working history and turns it into a document an employer reads and a filter parses. Not every tool filed here starts from a blank page. Some build the document. Some take one you already have and score it against a specific job posting. Some score and rewrite what you have without a posting in view at all. A buyer usually wants to know which of those jobs they are paying for before they compare prices. Each card says which. What separates them beyond that is what the paid tier actually buys, how long you are committed for, and what the vendor's own terms say happens to the document afterwards.
The honest thing to say at the top is what this page cannot score. There is no blind-vote arena for resume quality and no published accuracy study, and there could not easily be one: a good resume is good for a particular job, read by a particular filter, on a particular day. So the row a buyer might most want filled carries no independent figure here. It publishes a named criterion instead, printed under its own name with the question it answers.
What is measurable: what the plans cost and for how long, what customers report, and what the contract commits the vendor to. On this category that third one is unusually load-bearing, because the document you upload is your employment history.
Top score: Teal. It holds the highest Vouch Score composite on this page, 71/100, measured 29 August 2026. The label is computed from the cards, not chosen by us, and it moves the day another tool measures higher. Read what each card measured before you take it as advice for your own work.

Builds and tailors resumes against a specific job description, tracks the applications you send, and scores how well a draft matches the posting; sold in 7, 30 and 90 day periods rather than by the month.
Teal sells its resume builder in 7, 30 and 90 day periods rather than by the month: $13, $29 and
$79, with the vendor's own per-day figures printed beside each. A free tier exists and needs no
card. The refund window is published per plan and counted from the period's start, which gives
the weekly plan two days. The composite reads 71.0 out of 100, read 29 August 2026.

Jobscan holds 4.3 out of 5 across 340 Trustpilot reviews, the largest consumer record in this
category. The shape underneath is unusual: 82% five-star, 12% one-star, 6% spread across the
middle three bands. Monthly billing costs $49.95; the quarterly plan prints $29.98 a month but
takes $89.95 up front, and the seven-day trial attaches only to that plan. Composite 64.5,

Resume Worded scores a resume you already have and rewrites weak lines. Two public review
records disagree: Trustpilot shows 4.8 across 2,997, Product Hunt 3.6 across 12. This card
uses the smaller one, because seven of 24 visible Trustpilot reviews are about the founder's
newsletter rather than the tool. Monthly is $49. Composite 63.3, read 31 August 2026.

Read the dimensions, not the composite
Read the billing period before the price. A job search is short and these products are priced for it, so a figure that looks small can be a weekly figure and a figure that looks large can cover three months.
Then read the refund window, and read it against the billing period rather than on its own. A window measured in days from the start of a seven-day period is a different promise from the same number of days against ninety.
And check what the terms say about training. You are uploading your employment history, your dates and your employers' names. Whether that content can be used to train a model other customers benefit from is a question the vendor's own terms either answer or do not, and this site records which.
Where these numbers come from
Capability is sourced from public output-quality arenas (blind pairwise votes) or from a published accuracy study where no arena covers the category, usability from review-crowd aggregates weighted by sample size, value from verified pricing, and commercial terms from clause positions read off the vendor’s own legal documents on a stated date. Where none of those exists for a tool, the row carries a named criterion instead: a different measurement, taken from saved sources under its own rubric, and the card prints that criterion’s name and the question it answers in place of the axis heading, so the row is never read as the axis it could not fill. Full detail: methodology.
Nothing here is placed by hand: the order comes out of each card's composite at build time, and a card that cannot be ranked carries no position and no badge. On commercial ties, as of August 2026: no affiliate programme covering resume builders has been joined and nothing in this category earns us a commission. If that changes, this line changes with it and the disclosure lands before the link. The capability position is a named criterion rather than a measurement of output, and every card in this category says so where its number is.
